Bathers enjoy the Tiermas thermal springs

Bathers enjoy the natural hot waters of Tiermas thermal springs in northern Spain, October 19, 2005. Emerging from the depths of the Yesa reservoir when its supplies reach low levels, Tiermas' are known by nearby villagers, who in spite of the stench produced by sulphur leaks, gather seeking for the relaxing and therapeutic effects of hot spring baths that flow at around 38 degrees Celsius (100 Fahrenheit) . Spain has suffered a severe drought in 2005, the worst since records began in the 1940s, sparking forest fires and causing reservoirs across the country to shrink to alarmingly low levels.
